Position Overview
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting KANA's server infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, and data systems. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of critical technology systems while providing advanced technical support and guidance to IT staff.
The Systems Administrator plays a key role in system planning, cybersecurity initiatives, disaster recovery preparedness, and the ongoing modernization of KANA's technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based server infrastructure and business applications
  • Manage physical and virtual servers, including provisioning, patching, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Support enterprise storage, file services, backup systems, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, authentication services, and identity management technologies
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Intune
  • Monitor system performance, security, capacity, and availability; proactively address risks and issues
  • Support vulnerability remediation, patch management, and infrastructure security initiatives
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues and provide advanced support to Help Desk staff
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system standards
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, implementation projects, and change management activities
  • Coordinate with vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to support organizational technology needs

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Five years or more of experience in systems administration, server support, or enterprise infrastructure management
  • Experience administering Microsoft server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud technologies
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, enterprise storage, backup systems, and disaster recovery practices
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices, patch management, and systems monitoring tools
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to travel to remote communities by small aircraft when needed

Work Schedule
KANA's standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).
