Community College Preparatory Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced CompTIA Instructor to deliver engaging, industry-aligned instruction to adult learners preparing for certification in CompTIA Tech+, CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+. The instructor will create a learner-centered environment that supports adult students in developing the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and test readiness required to achieve industry certifications and pursue careers in Information Technology.

Position Summary

The CompTIA Instructor will provide high-quality instruction that prepares adult learners for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level IT careers. The ideal candidate is passionate about workforce development, skilled in technical instruction, and committed to supporting diverse adult learners through hands-on, practical education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in CompTIA Tech+, A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certification courses.

  • Develop, adapt, and implement curriculum aligned with certification objectives and adult learner needs.

  • Incorporate real-world applications, labs, simulations, and hands-on scenarios into instruction.

  • Prepare students for CompTIA certification exams using best practices in test preparation and practice assessments.

  • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate varying learning styles, academic backgrounds, and skill levels.

  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, attendance, and participation.

  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports.

  • Support students through academic advising, career exploration, and transition planning to employment or further education.

  • Collaborate with school staff to align instruction with career pathways and credentialing outcomes.

  • Stay current with evolving technologies, certification standards, and industry trends.

  • Participate in professional development, curriculum meetings, and continuous program improvement efforts.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Industry-recognized certification in one or more of the following:

    • CompTIA A+

    • CompTIA Network+

    • CompTIA Security+

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in Information Technology or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching or training adult learners in a classroom or professional setting.

  • Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.

  • Familiarity with online learning platforms, interactive instructional tools, and virtual lab environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.

  • Experience teaching in an adult education or Career and Technical Education (CTE) setting.

  • Understanding of adult learning theory and culturally responsive instructional practices.

  • Experience supporting students with job readiness, resume development, and interview preparation.

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Instruction may occur during daytime, evening, or weekend hours based on program and student needs.

  • Courses may be delivered in-person, hybrid, or virtual formats.

  • Occasional participation in student events, orientation sessions, and professional development activities may be required.
