Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144
Department Information
1. Provides 8-10 hours total per week of personal training and small group training on the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses
2. Provides support for the Personal Training and Group Fitness Prep Course instruction and administration including development of course materials, lecture, hands-on demonstration, and student skill learning and evaluation
3. Assists with the organization and administration of programs and special events such as fitness challenges, campus collaborations, workshops, and trainings
4. Supports the group fitness program as an instructor and assist in maintaining all fitness spaces
5. Provides development opportunities for students, faculty, and staff through on campus workshops, certifications, mentoring, continuing education, and internship opportunities
6. Presents programs on health and fitness to the KSU community such as fitness orientations
Job Summary
The Recreational Program Team Lead will be responsible for assisting in the management of the assigned comprehensive recreational program including the daily operations.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for assisting with assigned program and daily operations
2. Assist in supervising the program staff including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, and evaluation
3. Assist with the organization and administration of programs and special events
4. Support the assigned program as an instructor and assist in maintaining all program spaces and/or equipment
5. Assess the success and effectiveness of the assigned programs via solicitation for patron feedback, surveys, comment cards, and evaluation of program statistics
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
Collegiate recreation experience in assigned program
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW AND/OR INSTITUTION :
Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized and accredited certifying organization
CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years collegiate recreation fitness experience
Supervisory experience demonstrating strong leadership ability
Two years of experience personal training
Experience personal training a diverse clientele with varying experience levels
Experience teaching group fitness
Experience with special events and programs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to work a varied work schedule to include nights and weekends is essential and expected.
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Ability to work with a diverse group
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
