Under the guidance of the Dean and Assistant Vice Provost of Professional and Continuing Studies, the Morehouse Online Applied Management Studies Program Director and General Education Program Director seek online adjunct faculty members to teach courses in the applied management studies degree and general education courses to non-traditional students in the Morehouse Online degree program.
Required Qualifications
A Master's degree in Management, Business Administration (MBA), Organizational Leadership, or a closely related field (for business-specific courses), OR a Master's degree in the specific academic discipline (e.g., English, Mathematics, Communications) for general education courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Doctorate degree (Ph.D., DBA, or Ed.D.) in the teaching discipline or a related field.
  • Prior experience facilitating online higher education courses using both synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring non-traditional, adult student populations in accelerated degree-completion frameworks.


Preferred Education/Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of pedagogical strategies and able to assess how students collaborate in a digital workspace. 
  • Commitment to the mission of Morehouse College, fostering leadership, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
  • Ability to actively engage students through collaborative online discussions and interactive coursework.
  • Functional knowledge and comfortable operating within standard higher education Learning Management Systems (LMS)-specifically Canvas-along with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Banner, Starfish, and Zoom.
  • Strong written, oral, and listening communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex academic and professional ideas clearly and effectively in a virtual environment.

$1,000 per credit hour

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging asynchronous and synchronous instruction for courses within the B.A. in Applied Management Studies program and/or the general education curriculum.
  • Cultivate a vibrant virtual learning community by actively guiding, prompting, and participating in online discussions and collaborative forums.
  • Integrate relevant professional and real-world business scenarios into course materials, ensuring the curriculum is practical, current, and impactful for adult learners.
  • Assess student performance objectively and provide constructive, detailed feedback on assignments, exams, and projects within the established institutional timeframe.
  • Hold scheduled virtual touchpoints to mentor students, clarify complex course concepts, and support the success of non-traditional, adult learners.
