RANGE: Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester basis and are paid per lecture hour equivalent (LHE). Minimum (less than a masters) and Maximum (Doctorate)
DESCRIPTION
Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty. Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for Legal Assistant (Paralegal) discipline.
As an instructor in the growing Social and Behavioral Sciences division, you will become a member of a student-oriented division whose primary focus is helping students attain their career goals.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Instruct students in the assigned discipline
  • Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, and/or off-campus sites

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)
Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:
  • Any bachelor's degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.
  • Academic Senate's approved equivalency: No Equivalency per faculty division
  • AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (tit. 5 § 53024.1).

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience and willingness to teach online classes
  • Experience and/or willingness to teach dual enrollment courses at high school site.
  • Experience in the legal field.
