Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Applications Specialist to join their client's dynamic team in California. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Development Operations, and involves working closely with the Senior Applications Specialist (SAS) to support the configuration, maintenance, and business process improvements across core business systems, such as Microsoft Suite, Power BI, and Smartsheet. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and grow, contributing to prototypes, documentation, and presentations that demonstrate value to both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities

  • Assist in translating business requirements into the configuration of the business system and help perform ongoing maintenance and support of that configuration.
  • Support the initial analysis and assessment of proposed enhancements and ongoing production support issues, escalating to the Senior Applications Specialist as needed.
  • Help implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, and well-documented, focusing on providing timely and accurate data to the business.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of functional specs and help keep business requirements current in coordination with the Operations Development team.
  • Work with technical teams and the Senior Applications Specialist to build prototypes and solutions demonstrating capabilities to the Operations Development and Business teams.
  • Collaborate with developers to help meet functional goals.
  • Follow the Enterprise SDLC processes to design, build, test, and implement reporting applications.
  • Support the delivery of small projects, contributing application, infrastructure, and business tasks within the SDLC model under the direction of the Senior Applications Specialist.
  • Create and maintain standard documentation following established templates and guidance.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of comparable experience.
  • Working experience with Visual Basic for Applications specific to Excel, preferred.
  • Exposure to or experience with Microsoft Power Business Intelligence and the Smartsheet online application.
  • Foundational knowledge of APIs and web services for application integration.
  • Willingness to learn and master new application platforms as required.
  • Solid data analysis, design, and application testing skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidential information.
  • Comfortable operating in a startup fashion for emerging technologies that impact the construction industry.
  • Ability to adapt to new business teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to solve problems and contribute ideas, seeking guidance on complex issues when appropriate.

Required Work Hours

Benefits
This long-term temporary position offers competitive pay ranging from $45 to $50 per hour. The role is primarily onsite in Pasadena, with the flexibility of working remotely one day a week.
Additional Details
The position is expected to last for 6+ months, with a maximum pay of $50 and a minimum pay of $45 per hour.
