Position Announcement
The Marketing Department in the Woodbury School of Business is seeking adjunct instructors for marketing courses. We have courses covering various marketing subjects, including written business communication, professional presentations, digital marketing, and professional sales. We hire based on our semester-to-semester needs to cover courses.
Summary of Responsibilities
Adjuncts shall perform some or all of the following duties:
  • Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught.
  • Prepares instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, etc.) as necessary.-Instructs, manages, and supervises students in classrooms and computer labs using appropriate teaching methods.
  • Evaluates instruction and learning by means of appropriate testing methods and in consultation with full-time faculty.
  • Works closely with an assigned full-time faculty member to ensure academic standards, department standards, and course/program outcomes are met in each class taught.
  • Maintains a student-oriented approach to education.
  • Coordinates engaged and/or service-learning work experience programs with students as assigned.
  • Assists counselors, department chairperson, and or program coordinator, faculty, and department staff in maintaining an effective program.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and one to three years of related professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a master's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content of classes to be taught, instructional strategies, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of effective human relations skills and communication techniques.
  • Ability to apply general principles effectively to specific conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively with people.
