Position Information
Job Title Mathematics Instructor - Perkinston Campus Job Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teach assigned subject matter with professionalism and uphold college values.
  2. This position will include evening instructional assignments, including providing academic support services through the Learning Resources Center (LRC) and, as needed, teaching evening courses.
  3. Meet classes according to the schedule.
  4. Attend faculty/departmental meetings as requested.
  5. Follow exam schedules unless otherwise approved.
  6. Provide access to students for advising, conferences, and tutorial help.
  7. Advise students as needed.
  8. Maintain accurate student records and submit reports timely.
  9. Use instructional support services (e.g., Learning Resources Centers).
  10. Conduct course evaluations per college procedures.
  11. Ensure instructional consistency with college and departmental standards.
  12. Contribute to college goals, course objectives, and student achievement.
  13. Act as a public representative for the community college.
  14. Supervise or participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
  15. Evaluate student progress adequately.
  16. Participate in college governance councils as assigned.
  17. Serve on academic/instructional committees as assigned.
  18. Carry out other duties as assigned by the department or administration.

Responsible for the teaching of assigned courses at assigned sites as well as the other duties and responsibilities inherent in this position. Reports to the School of Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, and IT chairperson of the Perkinston Campus.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) Master's degree with (18) graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
(M2) Ability to work evening hours on a regular basis.
(M3) Ability to teach college-level Mathematics courses (Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Calculus).
(M4) Previous teaching experience.
(M5) Written and interpersonal communication skills.
(M5) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Doctoral degree in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
(D2) Community college and/or college-level teaching experience.
(D3) Online teaching experience using learning management systems such as Canvas.
(D4) Multi-media instructional delivery experience.
