Job description

OneSparQ is looking for an Operations Manager to support an environmental engineering and consulting firm based in Hampton Roads, VA.


Required Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in environmental or civil disciplines
  • Active PE or PG license
  • Strong understanding of the government and commercial sectors, including market potential, competition, clients, forecasting, and capture strategy
  • Strong background in project management
  • Proven leadership ability with a track record of working effectively across teams and departments


Additional Skills: (not required)

  • PMP Certification
  • Program Management Experience


Responsibilities:

  • Manage full P&L responsibilities, including financial and utilization performance.
  • Lead recruiting, staffing, HR oversight, and professional development for the Hampton Roads team.
  • Drive growth of environmental remediation, natural resources, and compliance services across Federal, State, Local, and Commercial sectors.
  • Support and execute EGS and regional initiatives focused on revenue growth, diversification, and market expansion.
  • Develop and implement business strategies, marketing budgets, and bid preparation to meet annual operating goals.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate staff, including conducting quarterly and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage overhead spending, staff utilization, and operational efficiency to meet financial targets.
  • Serve as a project/program manager and primary client contact, ensuring quality delivery, communication, and receivables collection.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to improve systems, processes, staffing levels, and overall organizational performance.
