Job description

Join the Ashtead Technology workshop team in Houston and play a key role in ensuring ROV tooling equipment is fully prepared for offshore operations. From inspecting, testing, and commissioning equipment to supporting tooling development and customer projects, you'll help deliver reliable, project-ready solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
What you'll be doing:
  • Inspecting, testing, repairing, and preparing ROV tooling equipment for deployment.
  • Commissioning new tooling systems and carrying out functional testing to ensure operational readiness.
  • Preparing equipment for mobilisation, ensuring all tooling is correctly labelled, complete, calibrated, and packaged for transport.
  • Maintaining accurate work orders, commercial invoice records, and technical documentation within NetSuite.
  • Contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of ROV tooling solutions, documentation, and testing procedures.
  • Diagnosing equipment faults, raising fault reports, and providing technical support to customers when required.
  • Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and occasional offshore activities.
  • Managing spare parts, consumables, and stock while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and HSEQ compliance.

What experience you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in a technician role involving the repair, maintenance, integration, and testing of ROV tooling equipment, ideally within the subsea industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ROV tooling, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs.
  • Qualification in a mechanical or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with electrical systems, fault-finding, and interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to hold and maintain the required offshore certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical support.
