POSITION SUMMARY

As a Housekeeping Manager, you would be responsible for managing.daily housekeeping operations in the hotel's continuous effort to deliveroutstanding guest service and financial goals as well as to supervise workactivities of cleaning personnel ensuring clean, orderly attractive rooms inhotel.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.


Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position in a full-service hotel in amanager capacity is a must.
or

6 years line level experience in all aspects of the Housekeeping Department;
or equivalent level of education and experience.


Prior experience in Marriott Hotels or full-service hotel brand will be helpful.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage daily Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, maintainingcleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, publicspaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.

Obtains list of vacant rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective checkouts in order to prepare work assignments.Advise Front Office Manager, Guest Service Agents of room ready foroccupancy.

Assigns Housekeeping Attendants their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.

Ensure that all team members follow safety rules and procedures. Take corrective action where required to improve safety of work areas.

Manage Marriott Housekeeping systems and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability, budgeting and forecasting, department management, Housekeeping standards implementation.

Inspecting rooms, corridors and lobby, meeting and banquet rooms to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to management.

Ensures guestrooms are properly secured and that proper key control procedures are utilized by the housekeeping associates.

Responsible for smooth function of the hotel laundry operation.

Assist in monitoring and developing team members performance to include but not limited to providing supervision, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.

Conducts departmental orientation training for new associates and explains Stamford Marriott policies, housekeeping work procedures and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.

Records date concerning work assignments, personnel actions, timesheet, and prepares periodic reports. Also prepare reports concerning occupancy, payroll expenses and department expenses.

Assists in controlling expenses of the Housekeeping Department.

This position reports to the Executive Housekeeper/Director Housekeeping.

Other duties assigned.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensureuniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates andlisten and respond appropriately to the concerns of all. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards of Stamford Marriott. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.
