Job description

WAREHOUSE CLERK - 1st Shift - LOUISVILLE, KY

OVERVIEW:

The Warehouse Clerk reports to the Warehouse Manager. This position will be responsible for but not limited to helping coordinate and execute warehouse administrative tasks, including shipping & receiving transactions, document review and filing, appointment scheduling, dock door and driver coordination, maintaining the shipping office organization, and any other task assigned by management. Strong interface with management staff, carriers, drivers and any employee/contractor throughout the operation. Monitors progress against inbound and outbound schedules and provides support in resolving any issues.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:The warehouse clerk must be self-motivated, action-oriented, ensure on time shipments (inbound/outbound), and coordinate inbound/outbound traffic.
  • Warehouse Office Function
  • Inspect inbound parcel deliveries and sign for packages (UPS, FEDEX, USPS).
  • Organize inbound packages mentioned above and call the appropriate parties to pick up their packages
  • Clean and organize warehouse office area to ensure all required warehouse sanitation protocols are completed as scheduled.
  • Maintain, file and attached all required paperwork as directed by management.
  • Assist with housekeeping audits and functions in and around the warehouse.
  • Ability to withstand high stress situations and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures and machinery.
  • Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, in order to avoid it by reporting immediately or by initiating corrective action.
  • Must be capable of effectively and calmly communicating with co-workers and/or management regarding instructions, needs and/or conflicts, and work in a fast-paced, sometimes highly stressed environment.
  • Push/pulls and maneuvers objects of varying weight with or without assistance.
  • Stands and walks up to 4-10 hours per day on concrete surfaces while performing duties.
  • Constantly uses hands and fingers to hold and handle objects and equipment required in performing job duties. Handling may be done unilaterally (one-handed) or bilaterally (two-handed) depending on size and shape of object and task being performed.
  • Speaking and hearing is essential and required for effective communication.
  • Vision acuity required to read and prepare reports.
  • Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering faces, names, oral instructions and details.
  • Work in warehouse environmental conditions: Temperature is of a wide range of degrees and noise levels due to a amount of time spent in warehouse.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk have full dexterity and correctable vision.
  • Must have ERP knowledge
  • Must have computer and Microsoft Office knowledge and experience (Successful candidates will be expected to have most, but not all of the following)
