Job Description
TITLE: Bus Driver Contract Length: 153 days
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clean MVR and ability to pass drug test
  • First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain one
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all traffic and safety regulations
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid CDL
  • Good physical health as determined by a physician. Physically able to lift 50 pounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and school sponsored activities.
  • Maintain student discipline and enforce regulations regarding student conduct.
  • Keep vehicle clean and report mechanical problems.
  • Perform other duties related to transportation services as assigned.

EVALUATION: Bus Drivers are evaluated annually by the Transportation Director.Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Policies GDO and GDO-R: Evaluation of Classified/Support Staff.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The Bus Driver position is an at-will position.
Work Year: August-June 153 days per year, 6 hours per day (4-day week).
Salary: Initial placement on the Classified Salary Schedule, column is at the discretion of the Superintendent. Salary is an hourly rate based on placement on the schedule. Up to ten (10) years credit for previous experience in a comparable position may be allowed.

ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS: Necessary travel throughout the District requires the use of a private vehicle and Colorado Driver's License. Work outside of regularly scheduled hours may be required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities. Work may need to be performed in narrow, poorly lighted, confined spaces.
