Primary Location: Kalkaska (and will rotate to other branches)

Our Manager in Training (MIT) Program is designed for motivated, servicedriven individuals who want a handson path into branch leadership while learning from experienced mentors along the way.

This isn't a sit and watch program it's a real opportunity to learn, lead, and build the skills needed to become a Branch Manager at Northland Area Federal Credit Union.

What This Role Is All About

As a Manager in Training, you'll learn how great leadership, exceptional service, and community involvement all come together inside a successful branch. During the program, you'll rotate through key areas of branch operations while building confidence, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of what it takes to manage people, performance, and member relationships.

You'll be supported every step of the way by a mentor, with regular coaching, feedback, and development conversations.

Your Learning Journey: The 5Phase MIT Program

Our structured training program gives you exposure to all the essentials of branch leadership without overwhelming you.

Phase 1: Branch Operations
Learn how a branch runs daytoday, from processes and compliance to systems and workflow.

Phase 2: Member Service Excellence
Discover what outstanding service really looks like and how to build trustbased relationships with members.

Phase 3: Leadership Development
Grow your leadership style, decisionmaking skills, and professional confidence.

Phase 4: Coaching & Staff Development
Learn how to motivate, train, and coach teams to achieve their best work.

Phase 5: Business Development & Community Involvement
Represent the credit union in the community while learning how branches develop business by growing relationships, deposits, and lending opportunities.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Motivated, curious, and eager to grow
  • Comfortable stepping into leadership situations
  • Passionate about service and helping others succeed
  • Open to coaching, feedback, and continuous learning

Qualifications preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in business or comparable experience
  • Experience in financial services, sales, or leadership
  • Ability to travel locally and hold a valid driver's license
  • Willingness to obtain required trainings and certifications during the program (we'll support you!)

Upon successful completion of the MIT Program:

  • You'll be eligible to apply for open Branch Manager positions
  • You'll be prepared to lead a branch with confidence, consistency, and heart
