The position manages a complex portfolio of clinical research studies conducted within the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center (IIRC).  Assures accuracy of study budgets and contracts and reconciles study expenditures throughout protocol lifecycle ensuring that studies are financially sustainable. 

Reports to the Post award Clinical Trials Fiscal Program Manager for the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center.  Works closely with IIRC faculty and staff, physicians, and other clinical providers and support staff within and outside of the FHCRC/UW system.  Establishes and maintains professional relationship with study sponsors.

This is a remote position. 

Responsibilities

Responsible for the post award management of IIRC clinical trials, including budget management, reporting and close-out ensuring all IRB regulations are adhered to. Works independently and in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders to direct operations and manage professional relationships with customers (investigators), Center finance, and pharmaceutical sponsors.  Accountable for all financial aspects of cellular immunotherapy trials managed by the IIRC clinical research team, ensuring appropriate management of all trial budgets throughout the lifetime of the study. 

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Directs financial management of ongoing clinical trials, including tracking payment schedules, billing, and budget management. Support the post award manager in invoicing sponsors each fiscal quarter providing supplementary documentation as needed
  • Review and audit for correctness patient care invoices to ensure compliance with clinical trial research agreements
  • Assist in overseeing a large and complex financial portfolio of contracts ensuring financial viability throughout the lifecycle of each study
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for trial account auditing and payment reconciliation for close out.
  • Work closely with Fred Hutch Finance and Clinical Research Support to support clinical trials accounting policies and procedures
  • Responsible for reviewing receipts and submitting travel reimbursement request in compliance with institutional policies and funding guidelines
  • Review internal budget and Oncore CTMS financial console / Calendar in alignment with protocol requirements and study sponsor funding terms
  • As needed, assists the preaward team in completing registrations, navigating the budget through the FH/UW systems.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or finance, preferable in a research or not-for-profit environment.
  • Working knowledge of financial information and related operational statistics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with clinical trials.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,475 to $120,682, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
