Job Description
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Oncologist, you will join CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group and an established team working to expand a comprehensive oncology program across Kentucky, with a primary focus on Lexington and Berea. You will provide high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, and cost-effective oncology care supported by advanced cancer-care technology, current FDA-approved therapies, state-of-the-art radiation treatment, and strong partnerships with surgical specialists.
Every day you will care for an existing patient panel supported by a large referral base and an APP who manages benign Hematology patients. You will work a Monday-through-Friday schedule with four hours of administrative time each week, light 1:6 weekday phone call, and 1:4 weekend call. You will have the flexibility to practice at a comfortable volume while helping build a program with a strong existing foundation.
To be successful in this role, you will be board-certified or board-eligible in Oncology; Hematology board certification is not required. You will bring strong clinical judgment, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered cancer care.

We are offering a competitive salary guarantee for up to three years, followed by a lucrative production model, along with an additional quality-based bonus. The recruitment package may include up to $200,000 in incentives through a sign-on bonus, student loan assistance, a residency bonus, and relocation assistance. Benefits include one week of CME with a $4,000 allowance, 33 days of PTO plus 11 paid holidays, paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage, potential eligibility for federal and state student loan forgiveness programs, comprehensive health and wellness benefits, and retirement options through Fidelity with up to a 3% match plus an additional annual company contribution equal to 3% of salary toward a 401(k) or pension plan.

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology or Hematology Oncology
  • Active Medical License in the State of Kentucky, or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • DEA certificate
  • Completion of ACGME Residency and Fellowship in Medical Oncology or Hematology Oncology
