Human Resources Generalist-Talent & Onboarding

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is to identify and hire the highest quality candidates for the Georgia Lottery. Primary duties include the administering the GLC’s full life cycle recruiting process (sourcing, selection, interviewing, background checks, drug and on-boarding); training and development support and benefits and compensation assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Works closely with hiring managers, senior staff and other staff members to facilitate the employment process to include recruitment, selection and separation. Coaches staff on best recruitment and interview practices.

Manage end to end offer and onboarding processes, including background checks and drug screens for new hires. Prepares offer letters and other correspondence as required.

Develops and maintains professional relationships with colleges, universities and community organizations as a source to generate qualified applicants.

Ensures the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for recruiting purposes are updated.

Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.

Supports company-wide projects including planning company events, corporate volunteerism assistance, coordinating wellness initiatives, etc.

Acts as a liaison to district office personnel on recruitment, benefits, compensation and policy issues.

Communicates with Director of Human Resources on issues including recruitment statistics, employee relations and discipline issues and other topics. Prepares reports and other information (oral and written) to support communication.

Assist and respond to organizational changes and staffing needs; develops and maintains standard operating procedures for recruiting and succession planning.

Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.

Assists with new hire orientation, job fairs and other opportunities to represent the GLC.

Handles the summer internship program to include postings, job fairs, recruitment, onboarding and separations.

Assists with identifying training needs and makes recommendations to the Director of Human Resources. May assist with the training design and delivering of materials for employees.

Submits to GBI state and national fingerprint based identification check and the completion and signing of the Security Awareness statements/training within thirty (30) days of employment or assignment to ensure the security and confidentiality of information accessing the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) network.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required, with a minimum of four years of Human Resources talent acquisition experience, minimum of three years’ experience with employee relations, and benefits. Professional presentation and communication style. Proven ability to guide processes to closure. Experience with Word, Excel and Powerpoint required. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and organizational skills are a must. Ability to speak in front of audiences and be able to maintain confidentiality. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Some travel may be required. Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.
