We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of Contractor Onboarding Specialist.  In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing our referred contractor pipeline and assisting in the training and onboarding of approved contractors.

The Contractor Onboarding Specialist role will focus on onboarding and training both customer-referred and nationally recognized contractors, actively growing our network of approved contractors while improving our customer satisfaction and time-to-install metrics.  This role reports to the Senior Business Development Manager on the Contractor Relations Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Contractor Pipeline Management: Manage Budderfly's referred contractor pipeline, evaluating prospective contractors and determining whether they advance through the onboarding process based on established business, operational, legal, and compliance requirements.
  • Onboarding Process Management: Own, oversee, and continuously improve the contractor onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from recruitment through activation while identifying and implementing process improvements to improve contractor quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Training and Orientation: Coordinate contractor onboarding and training activities with the Program Manager, Contractor Training, ensuring contractors successfully complete onboarding requirements and are prepared to perform work on behalf of Budderfly.
  • Communication and Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors throughout the onboarding process, resolving onboarding issues, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring timely progression through the onboarding pipeline.
  • System Integration: Manage contractor onboarding into required systems, platforms, and tools (HubSpot, FastFields, InJobs, Sitetracker), ensuring contractors meet all operational requirements prior to activation.
  • Reporting & Business Analysis: Analyze onboarding metrics, contractor pipeline activity, training effectiveness, contractor feedback, and onboarding timelines to identify trends, recommend operational improvements, and report program performance to leadership.
  • Pricing & Contract Administration: Negotiate contractor pricing and contractual terms within established business guidelines and coordinate with Contractor Relations leadership on exceptions or unique business circumstances.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop, refine, and implement contractor onboarding procedures, documentation, and best practices to improve contractor readiness, operational efficiency, and the overall onboarding experience.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in an onboarding, business development or other pipeline-management role preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively and professionally interact with contractors, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple onboarding processes simultaneously, with very strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Self-starter with ownership mentality and comfort operating in a high-growth environment with minimal oversight. 
  •  Desire to establish a climate-centric career.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software (including, but not limited to Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Exposure to contract and/or pricing negotiation preferred.
