Profound is the marketing platform for the AI era. As people increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini to decide what to buy, we give brands the intelligence to see how AI represents them and the Agents to act on it. Today, ~13% of the Fortune 500, plus companies like Ramp, Figma, Chime, Calendly, and DocuSign, use Profound to turn AI Search from a black box into a measurable growth channel.
Backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Khosla Ventures at a $1B valuation, we're a lean, fast-moving team across NYC, SF, Buenos Aires, and London, shipping at a relentless pace and defining a new category at the biggest shift in marketing in 25 years. If you want to do the best work of your career at the frontier of AI, come build it with us.
We created a new practice area called Marketing Engineering, and Profound University is where the world learns it.
There are no textbooks for Marketing Engineering. No established curricula. No credentialing bodies. The knowledge lives in the heads of a handful of practitioners, and the market is moving faster than anyone can document it. Profound University exists to close that gap through structured courses, certifications, and applied learning that make people genuinely capable of doing new work.
As Content Lead, you will run the content production engine behind Profound University. You are the person who turns raw knowledge from internal experts, field practitioners, product teams, and research into structured, rigorous course material at high volume. You will write lesson scripts, build course architecture, manage production operations, coordinate on-camera talent, and make sure every course ships on time and holds up under scrutiny.
You are building the definitive course catalog for a field that does not have one yet. You have editorial ownership over how it gets structured, written, and produced. The content ships as a product that people study, get graded on, and earn certifications against. This is greenfield, high-volume, and yours to build.
What you'll do
  • Own the content production pipeline for Profound University from research and outlining through scripting, review, and final delivery to production
  • Write and structure course lessons, modules, and certification tracks rooted in Marketing Engineering as a discipline, not product walkthroughs, but structured thinking that makes someone genuinely effective in the field
  • Architect learning paths across introductory, practitioner, and advanced tiers with deliberate difficulty scaling and clear competency gates
  • Build and manage the production calendar so courses ship on a predictable cadence without sacrificing rigor
  • Coordinate on-camera talent by preparing scripts, facilitating studio time, coaching delivery, and managing the feedback loop across internal subject matter experts and leadership
  • Collaborate with Data, Research, AI Strategy, and Product teams to translate evolving frameworks, product capabilities, and field insights into current curriculum
  • Design assessments that test applied competency including recorded walkthroughs, live builds, diagnostic exercises, and capstone projects
  • Write certification rubrics and grading criteria that are defensible, specific, and draw real lines between skill levels
  • Continuously version and update existing courses as the discipline, platform, and market evolve
  • Build repeatable systems and templates that allow course production to scale beyond a single person

Who you are
  • 4 or more years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, editorial operations, or educational content production at a high-growth startup, technology company, or learning platform
  • Experience building or significantly contributing to a content operation, owning systems such as editorial calendars, production workflows, quality standards, and throughput
  • Exceptional writer who can take complex, ambiguous, and technical material and turn it into structured, clear lessons that teach someone how to actually do the work
  • Experience working with on-camera talent or subject matter experts to produce video or multimedia content
  • Organized operator who can manage production timelines, multiple concurrent projects, and cross-functional dependencies without dropping threads
  • Comfortable using AI tools in your workflow for drafting, research, and iteration while maintaining high editorial standards
  • Deep curiosity about AI, search, and how information discovery is changing
  • Motivated by learner outcomes above all else, with a focus on whether learners can apply what they learn
  • Comfortable shipping at high volume without sacrificing quality and understanding how to build systems that support both

Location
This is an on-site role based in our Union Square, NYC office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact.
For this role, the expected base salary range is $150,000 to $210,000. Profound's total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.
