Job description

Position Summary
Responsible for providing technical support for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) Service Center operations, including calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of testing benches, assembly/teardown benches, cable spoolers, machines, and other shop equipment, as well as supporting the design, programming, installation, and optimization of ESP testing systems.
Job Functions/Duties (may be assigned other duties by management)
• Supervise all service and maintenance activities for test benches, assembly and teardown benches, spoolers, and machinery to ensure continuous functionality and compliance with scheduled maintenance plans.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance in-house and coordinate with third-party service providers for major repairs.
• Perform additional technical support duties for Service Center operations, as needed.
• Responsible for test bench calibration, quality and support instrumentation.
• Perform fundamental test engineering, programming and automation tasks as required.
• Physically assist, as required in the fabrication, assembly, installation and commissioning of test equipment and control systems.
• Modify existing test systems to meet new equipment requirements
• Assist in making decisions about test system project management and scheduling.
• Support the design of new tools and equipment required to service and repair ESP Service Center Test Equipment. Includes test automation, equipment skids, dismantle and assembly benches, instrumentation, etc.
• Support as required engineering services to ensure software and test system documentation is entered into Windchill and under ECN control.
• Develop and support test software, documentation and version control of software, test data base, computerized test programs and PLC code for test Automation (Test criteria will be a joint responsibility of SCSG and engineering)
• Demonstrate ability to take appropriate corrective actions without immediate supervision.
• Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, confidence and proactivity.
• Know and enforce safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.

Qualifications/Education Requirements
• 2+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing test and/or assembly environment preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.
• Strong mechanical skills. Knowledge of machinery and equipment as it relates to Electric Submersible Pumps.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Must have experience handling multiple projects simultaneously with stringent deadlines, and working in an environment, which requires flexibility, innovation, and organization.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and/or company specific databases.
• Experience in oilfield service environment a plus.
• Good communication, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with API (American Petroleum Institute) recommendations and standards preferred.
• Programming proficiency in Visual Basic, C, Ladder Logic Code and National Instruments LabVIEW is a plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Continuously required to move about the facility.
Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Work is mostly in non-climate-controlled environment.
Continuous travel and on call required.
Continuous standing for long periods of time.
Exposure to shop and field elements such as noise, dust, odors and temperature variations.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes while in shop environment or on job site.
