Job description

This is a Full time, benefited position as a Lead OR RN over the ortho spine service line. We are looking for someone with Ortho Spine experience with the following procedures: ALIF, PLIF, ACDF, TLIF, LLIF/XLIF, discectomy, laminectomy, foraminotomy, corpectomy, microdiscectomy, etc. The shift is a 10 hour day shift 3 days/week 0645-1730 & 1 day/week 0645-1630.  It is located at Scripps Green in Torrey Pines La Jolla. On Call-varied shifts with 45 minute call back time is required.

There is a bonus of $4K and a relocation incentive $3K to eligible new hires.

The Lead OR RN responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Surgeons for service line needs
  • Work & collaborate with CST Leads on service specific needs
  • Work & collaborate for team education needs with Clinical Mentors
  • Monitor, review & confirm scheduled cases in EPIC 24 hours prior to scheduled cases

  • DPC building, editing, revising
  • Verify Equipment needs
  • Work with Charge RNs/Clinical Mentors on daily assignments

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Circulating experience with ortho spine service line
  • One (1) year of recent surgery or operating room RN experience in an acute care setting

  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider certification
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • 3 years or more experience in Nursing experience is preferred
  • 2 years or more of related experience
  • CNOR certificate
  • Leadership experience
