Job description

Cranemasters is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Car Repair Supervisor to lead and manage field crews supporting derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment/transfer, and track maintenance and construction projects.

This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining high-quality standards, and delivering exceptional service to railroad customers and regulatory stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and assign daily work to field crews

Lead safety briefings and enforce PPE, FRA, DOT, and company standards

Oversee project execution, including hands-on work and equipment operation

Maintain strong communication with customers and regulatory agencies

Submit accurate payroll, equipment usage, and project reports

Train, coach, and evaluate team members

Prepare job quotes (labor, equipment, logistics)

Monitor and maintain equipment readiness

Skills/Qualifications

2+ years railroad industry experience

Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and safety regulations

Strong leadership and communication skills

Proficient in MS Office and reporting systems

Valid driver's license (CDL A or B preferred)

Experience operating heavy equipment (cranes, excavators, etc.)

Ability to read load charts and understand rigging practices

Physical Requirements

Outdoor work in all weather conditions

Frequent travel with overnight stays

Physically demanding (lifting, walking on uneven terrain, extended hours)
