The Belridge Maintenance team is seeking to fill a Pipeline Operator position. This position will report to Taft, CA. The hourly pay range for this posted position is expected to be from $42 - $50, with a target annual bonus of 10% of base compensation. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Position Overview

The pipeline operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pipeline systems within an assigned area. This role performs routine and emergency maintenance, right-of-way inspections, line patrols, corrosion monitoring, equipment operation, and support for project or construction activities. The pipeline operator ensures regulatory compliance and the protection of people, environment, and company assets.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily pipeline system checks, facility walkdowns, and equipment inspections.
  • Operate valves, pumps, meters, and related pipeline equipment according to procedures.
  • Safely perform crude oil truck loading and offloading activities in accordance with company procedures, facility requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Inspect loading and offloading equipment, verify proper hose and connection setup, monitor product transfer, complete required documentation, and promptly report spills, leaks, equipment issues, or abnormal conditions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report abnormal operating conditions.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on pipelines, tanks, and associated facilities.
  • Complete required logs, inspection records, and maintenance reports accurately and on time.
  • Support compliance with PHMSA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company standards.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and safety programs.
  • Perform visual patrols to identify encroachments, erosion, leaks, or third-party activity.
  • Communicate with landowners, contractors, and local agencies as needed.
  • Support damage prevention programs, including 811/One Call responses and line locating.
  • Assist with pipeline repairs, replacements, tie-ins, integrity digs, and hydrotests.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain pipeline markers and ROW signage.
  • Respond to pipeline alarms, leaks, or abnormal situations following company procedures.
  • Assist Emergency Response teams during incidents or drills.
  • Participate in on call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Must be available to work a flexible or rotating schedule that may include day, afternoon, and night shifts, as well as weekends, holidays, overtime, callouts, and emergency response assignments based on operational needs.
  • May be required to report to work with limited notice and remain on duty beyond the regularly scheduled shift during emergencies, operational upsets, maintenance activities, or staffing needs.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, safe work practices, and permit requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments (JSA/JHA).
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the team and across field operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in pipeline operations, oil & gasspecificallyfor the Taft Area Pipeline System.
  • Qualified, trained, and authorized to safely perform truck loading and offloading operations, including transfer monitoring, equipment inspection, documentation, and spill-prevention practices.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and pipeline alignment sheets.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must obtain all required DOT Operator Qualifications (OQ) applicable to assigned job tasks within the first 30 days of placement in the position.
  • Position requires the ability to safely perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with company energy isolation procedures.
  • 5-year Experience in pipeline operations, oil & gas specifically.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DOT/PHMSA pipeline safety regulations.
