Job description

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who lives in North Carolina to provide locum tenens call coverage at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. The physician will provide ophthalmology consultation and surgical care for hospital and Emergency Department patients.
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Ophthalmology

Coverage Needed: November 20, 2026 at 8:00 AM – November 27, 2026 at 8:00 AM
24-hour call coverage
Provider must be able to report to ECU Health Medical Center within 20 minutes while on call
Orientation required the day before the scheduled coverage
Position Highlights
Board-Certified Ophthalmologist
Must reside in North Carolina
Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
Evaluate hospital and Emergency Department ophthalmology consults
Provide evaluation and surgical treatment of ophthalmic trauma
Average volume: 5–8 patients per day
Average patients per provider: 5–6
EPIC experience preferred
Provider will not respond to codes
No ICU or critical care responsibilities
Required Procedures
Ruptured globe repair
Eyelid laceration repair
Corneal foreign body removal
Requirements
Board Certified in Ophthalmology
Active North Carolina medical license
Must live in North Carolina
Ability to provide 24-hour call coverage and respond within 20 minutes
EPIC experience preferred
