Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Integrity Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of offshore floating production facilities and topsides structures. This role is responsible for managing structural integrity programs, evaluating inspection findings, conducting fitness-for-service assessments, and developing mitigation or repair strategies to ensure continued asset performance and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Facilities Engineering, Inspection, and Construction teams while serving as a technical authority for offshore structural integrity matters.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage offshore structural integrity programs for floating topsides and associated structures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Facilities Engineering, Construction, and Inspection personnel.
  • Plan inspections and develop detailed work packs to support offshore execution activities.
  • Review and assess inspection findings, including post-inspection data processing and reporting.
  • Perform fitness-for-service (FFS) evaluations of structural damage, degradation, and anomalies using engineering calculations and structural analysis models.
  • Update global structural models to incorporate inspection findings and assess ongoing structural performance.
  • Develop mitigation plans, repair recommendations, and risk-based strategies to address identified integrity concerns.
  • Track integrity threats, repairs, and mitigation activities using Integrity Data Management Systems (IDMS).
  • Generate notifications and work orders through Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to facilitate execution of corrective actions.
  • Manage annual integrity-related budgets and forecast engineering and inspection expenditures.
  • Oversee and review the technical work of engineering consultants, inspection contractors, and third-party service providers.
  • Serve as the company technical reviewer for structural integrity studies, assessments, and reports.
  • Support offshore campaigns, including site visits and mobilizations, to review findings and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company safety standards, engineering procedures, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore structural integrity management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing and managing aging offshore structures and topsides assets.
  • Strong knowledge of structural fitness-for-service methodologies and applicable offshore engineering standards and codes.
  • Experience performing structural damage assessments through engineering calculations and global structural model evaluations.
  • Proven ability to independently manage offshore inspection campaigns, mobilizations, and scope execution activities.
  • Experience working directly with offshore personnel, including inspectors, construction crews, supervisors, and Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs).
  • Proficiency with integrity management systems, structural analysis tools, and maintenance management platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with floating production facilities, offshore platforms, or deepwater assets.
  • Familiarity with risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies and asset integrity management systems.
  • Experience managing contractors and third-party engineering service providers.
  • Knowledge of offshore regulatory requirements and industry standards such as API, ISO, or DNV.
Travel Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel offshore as required.
  • Expected offshore travel includes approximately three or more short-duration trips annually to support inspections, assessments, and follow-up activities.
Success Profile
The ideal candidate is a self-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced offshore operating environment, effectively manages multiple priorities, and demonstrates sound engineering judgement when evaluating structural integrity risks and operational challenges.
