Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily shop operations, support equipment reliability initiatives, oversee machining and fabrication activities, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of maintenance and repair work. This role reports into our Maintenance Manager. As part of our Operations team, you will contribute to the development and optimization of machine shop operations, equipment reliability improvements, and custom fabrication solutions in collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Reliability teams. What you'll do:
  • Supervise daily machine shop operations, including machining, fabrication, and repair activities to support plant reliability and production goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop machine shop technicians while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to prioritize work orders, equipment repairs, and custom fabrication projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve shop efficiency.
  • Manage machine shop scheduling, tooling, inventory, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion of critical work.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, maintenance procedures, and quality expectations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in machining, fabrication, maintenance, or machine shop operations, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting manual and CNC machining equipment, precision measurement tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and coordinate activities across Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work around industrial equipment, and safely perform duties in a manufacturing environment.

Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
