Responsibilities


Provides oversight to, and is accountable for quality and service, work unit safety, strategic planning, document management, financial management and developing and implementing new services. Responsible for management and development of staff. Assists in the planning of maintenance and service coverage for research equipment. Completes special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager or Operations Administrator.

Additional Information: 

  • Assists with hiring and onboarding new staff, as well as off-boarding staff.  
  • Supervises Allied Health Staff, Research Temporary Professionals, Interns, etc. 
  • Partners with Principal Investigators to ensure effective program management through workforce planning, as well as space, capital, equipment, and facilities planning. 
  • Collaborates with Human Resources and Principal Investigators to develop workforce strategies, support employee development, and promote career growth opportunities.
  • The scope of this position will encompass many aspects of the research facilities, spanning all campuses (SCT, PHX, IERB, HFC) where discovery science is housed. 
  • Oversees equipment orders, equipment receipt, installation, and onboarding of new shared equipment. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • On-site position.May need to travel between Phoenix and Scottsdale campuses on a frequent basis. 

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or other relevant Healthcare disciplines with 2 years of research laboratory experience.Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment and safety. Requires skill in influencing and motivating others. Needs to possess excellent communication, organizational and human relation skills. Must have the ability to organize and carry out techniques independently and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Must have broad based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with the ability to manage and create spreadsheets and databases. Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
