R. Scheinert & Son, Inc. is a fifth-generation, family-owned industrial service company proudly serving the Philadelphia region since 1913. We specialize in electric motor repair, pump repair, generator service, and full field maintenance for commercial, industrial, and municipal customers.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Generator Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the electrical and mechanical systems of industrial and commercial generators (excluding engine/fuel system repairs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair generators ranging from 10kW to 2MW
  • Service and repair alternators, generators ends, and rotating equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair control panels, voltage regulators, and electrical systems
  • Service and maintain automatic transfer switches (ATS)
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and load bank testing
  • Respond to emergency service calls (rotating on-call schedule)
  • Perform field service work at customer sites
  • Complete detailed service reports and paperwork

Qualifications

  • Minimum 35 years of hands-on experience working on industrial/commercial generator electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong knowledge of generators, alternators, control panels, and transfer switches
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and reading schematics
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record (CDL a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work some evenings/weekends for emergency calls
