On Call Full Stack Web Developer information

Is full stack web developer still in demand?

Full stack web developers remain in high demand due to their ability to handle both front-end and back-end development, supporting the ongoing growth of web applications and digital services. Skills in frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, and proficiency with cloud platforms increase employability in this field.

Is Webdev dead due to AI?

Web development remains a vital role for full stack developers, as AI tools can assist but not fully replace the need for designing, coding, and maintaining websites. Skills in programming languages, frameworks, and problem-solving are still essential, and developers who adapt to new technologies will continue to find opportunities.

Can a full stack developer work remotely?

Full stack developers can often work remotely, especially if their employer supports telecommuting and the role involves tasks that can be completed online, such as coding, testing, and collaboration through tools like version control and project management software. Remote work arrangements depend on company policies, project requirements, and the developer's skills in communication and self-management.

Will Fullstack be replaced by AI?

Full Stack Web Developers perform complex tasks that involve designing, coding, and maintaining both frontend and backend systems, which currently require human judgment and creativity. While AI tools can assist with coding and automation, they are unlikely to fully replace full stack developers in the near future due to the need for problem-solving, customization, and understanding user needs. Developers who adapt by learning new tools and frameworks will continue to be valuable in the evolving tech environment.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

This classification is distinguished by its focus on full-stack web development within a Linux-based environment. Unlike entry-level roles, this position requires demonstrated experience with both front-end and back-end technologies, including AJAX and jQuery.

SAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery.

• Utilize frameworks such as Bootstrap or Vue.js for front-end development.

• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.

• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues.

• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers.

• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Proficiency in PHP (OOP and MVC frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter).

• Solid understanding of MySQL database design and optimization.

• Experience with Linux server environments and basic shell commands.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).

• Strong front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, and responsive design.

• Query and interact with Microsoft SQL Server databases as needed.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: 3–5 years of experience in full-stack web development.

OR: Any relevant combination of education and experience as determined by the Director of Information Technology.

Other

A valid California Class "C" Driver's License may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
