Dialysis Technician – Contract Opportunity

Janesville, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
⏰ Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Position Overview

Mercyhealth is seeking skilled and compassionate Dialysis Technicians to join their dialysis team in Janesville, WI. This position is ideal for candidates with dialysis experience who are committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Dialysis Technician will provide specialized direct patient care, initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments, monitor patients throughout procedures, and ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments safely and effectively
  • Prepare patient stations, dialysis equipment, and treatment supplies
  • Perform patient assessments including vital signs, weight, and treatment documentation
  • Cannulate vascular access sites and provide catheter care per protocol
  • Conduct machine safety checks, water testing, and dialysate monitoring
  • Assist with infection prevention procedures and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with the Biomedical Team to maintain dialysis equipment functionality
  • Collect lab specimens and support vascular access monitoring
  • Maintain accurate patient treatment records within EPIC EMR
  • Participate in departmental education, training, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed
Qualifications
  • Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification through NNCC or BONENT required
  • Current CPR or BLS certification required
  • Previous dialysis experience preferred
  • Strong communication, technical, and patient care skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment
