Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit requiring stepdown experience and a current OK or compact RN license.

Details
  • Hospital-based Med Specialty Step Down unit
  • Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week for 36 hours weekly
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification issued by AHA
  • Current ACLS certification issued by AHA required
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Stepdown unit experience required
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Tracheostomy care experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and delivers competent nursing care
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and notes changes in physician orders
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Monitors physiological data and intervenes when necessary
  • Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
  • Returning travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month separation before reapplying
