Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, skilled Plumbing & Heating Technician to join our team in Schuylkill Haven, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining residential and commercial hydronic heating systems, boilers, furnaces, and associated plumbing equipment.

Whether working on field service calls, customer installations, or assisting with factory testing and technical support, you will serve as a key technical hands-on expert for our heating products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Servicing: Install, maintain, and repair hot water boilers, steam boilers, warm air furnaces, and stoker heating systems (coal/oil/gas).
  • Plumbing Maintenance: Pipe fitting, valve replacement, circulator pump installation, expansion tank setup, and hydronic loop wiring/piping.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues on heating controls, motors, feed systems, blowers, and thermostats.
  • Customer & Dealer Support: Provide clear, professional technical assistance and guidance to customers, home heating contractors, and dealers.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to local plumbing and building codes, EPA safety guidelines, and company procedures.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of service calls, parts inventory, work orders, and safety inspections.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial plumbing and hydronic/forced-air heating system service and installation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of hydronic heating systems, piping layouts, low-voltage control circuits, wiring schematics, and combustion principles.
  • License/Certification: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record required. Journeyman Plumbing/Heating license or EPA certification is a strong plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces (basements, utility closets), stand for extended periods, and comfortably use ladders and hand/power tools.
  • Soft Skills: Professional customer service attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with anthracite coal stoker equipment, automatic coal boilers/furnaces, or multi-fuel heating systems.
  • Trade school degree or apprenticeship completion in HVAC, Plumbing, or Heating Technology.
