Piper Companies is seeking a Network Architect to join a leading defense and government services organization supporting mission-critical enterprise network environments. The Network Architect role is ideal for an experienced cleared professional with deep expertise in enterprise networking, automation, and data center technologies. The Network Architect is a long term contract opportunity and requires you to sit onsite 5 days per week in Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities of the Network Architect: * Design, architect, and optimize complex enterprise-level network infrastructure solutions within secure environments.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing strategic guidance, architecture recommendations, and network modernization solutions.
* Develop and implement network automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and related technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
* Lead technical design reviews, collaborate with engineering teams, and mentor network engineers on architectural best practices.
Requirements of the Network Architect: * Active TS/SCI security clearance.
* 8+ years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or a related discipline supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
* CCIE certification required; CCNP Data Center certification will also be considered.
* Hands-on experience with network automation tools and scripting languages, including Python and Ansible.
