Job description

Job Summary:

Responsible for greeting guests in the beach and pool area ensuring that entire area is clean and properly set up prior to the opening and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the day.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items.
  • Accurately record/enter order through the POS system
  • Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
  • Follow all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Set up maintain and breakdown Pool and Beach.
  • Provide Pool and Beach side service as schedules Inform guests about the Club facilities, policies and procedures
  • Set up and breakdown of pool or beach areas.
  • Maintain and clean pool or beach areas.
  • Sweep beach hut and surrounding areas.
  • Issue towels to beach and pool guests.
  • Check ladies (or men's) changing room and seaside pool on a regular basis for towels. Straighten up the changing room when necessary.
  • Morning duties- Open hut / check and refurbish towel supply; set up beach and pool; set up cabanas, lounges, pads, place towels on chairs; write weather conditions on board
  • Evening Duties- Straighten chairs on beach and pool; return towels to laundry; process all vouchers for towels not returned.
  • Maintain/clean/organize beach equipment: chairs, cushions, cabanas, umbrellas, etc.
  • Comply with all Fisher Island Club standards, policies and procedures.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as necessary as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Basic POS Systems knowledge/experience
  • Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol according to state law
  • Must be able to lift/pull/push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a very flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Food handling/Responsible vendor certificate required upon 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time (min. 6-8hour work shift)

Education/Skills/Work Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  • Most of the time spent standing, walking or there are some requirements to lift moderate weight (10-50 pounds)
  • Must be able to twist/bend/pull
  • Exposure to weather elements, i.e., temperatures, rain, sun
  • Outdoor pool and beach environment; there may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, odors, extreme temperature, inclement weather, noise, or lights.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms carry and lift items. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and distance vision

The hotel will function seven days a week, 24 hours a day. We may find it necessary to re-schedule shifts according to our business volume. You must be willing and available to fulfill these demands.
