With 20 tenure-line faculty and 11 term faculty, the ISOM area isthe largest academic area in the College of Business. It is anambitious and collegial group that highly values excellence inresearch, teaching, and service. It includes faculty in OperationsManagement, Information Systems, and Business Analyticsdisciplines, with several having multidisciplinary interests. Ourfaculty conducts managerially relevant research using a diverse setof methodologies. The ISOM Area faculty publish regularly inpremier journals, including Management Science, Manufacturing &Service Operations Management, Production & OperationsManagement, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, StrategicManagement Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, as well asmany other top journals. Our faculty members have won covetedUniversity and Professional Society awards for their research andteaching. Many of our faculty serve on editorial boards of leadingjournals, and all are active professionally in their respectivefields.

The Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM)Tenure-Line Assistant Professor of Operations Management (OM) willstart Fall 2027. This is a full-time position with benefits. OMfaculty are part of the ISOM area, one of the six areas of theCollege of Business. Salary and benefits will be competitive andcommensurate with the qualifications and experience of thecandidate.

• Major responsibilities include conducting high-quality researchand teaching Operations and Supply Chain Management courses inundergraduate and graduate programs;
• The teaching load for this position is determined according tothe College’s workload policy, which specifies an initial load of 9credits (this typically translates to 3 courses/year) fortenure-track assistant professor candidates and highly productiveresearchers; and
• Additional responsibilities include service to the ISOM Area,the College of Business, the University, and the profession, suchas student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing withthe business community.

• Earned a Ph.D. in OM or a closely related field or be ABD witha documented expectation of degree completion before the start ofFall 2027;
• Evidence of effective teaching or the potential to effectivelyteach at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
• Evidence of a strong research trajectory with the potential forpublications in top-tier academic journals; and
• Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues.

• Fewer than two years since PhD conferral; and
• Alignment of research interests with current OM faculty.
