What is an old sitter?

Old Sitters are caregivers who provide companionship and assistance to elderly individuals, often in their homes or care facilities. Their responsibilities can include helping with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders. They may also offer emotional support, engage seniors in conversation or activities, and sometimes assist with light housekeeping. Old Sitters play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of older adults, especially those who wish to maintain independence or need extra care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an old sitter, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Elderly Sitter, you need a basic understanding of senior care, first aid, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with home care tools, mobility aids, and sometimes CPR or caregiving certifications is valuable. These abilities ensure safety, comfort, and emotional well-being for seniors under your care.
