Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Dock Worker Clerk. A Dock Worker Clerk will provide clerical support to the Dock Supervisor to assist in operating a productive shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Dock Supervisor to assist with high levels of productivity and smooth operations

  • Prepare and maintain daily paperwork to move freight including DOT files to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness

  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports using AS400 and SAP

  • Photograph the loading quality of all trailers

  • Assists with coordinating freight, information and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency while minimizing duplication of effort

  • Notify the Supervisor of load cut times and assist in ensuring they are met

  • Assist the Supervisor in taking all necessary steps in the closeout preparation of a trailer

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

  • 1 year of office and/or operations experience, preferably in the transportation industry

  • Experience in using handheld computers/scanners

  • Proficiency with AS400, SAP and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented
