The Restaurant Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure exceptional service, team development, and guest satisfaction. This includes supervising front-of-house staff, managing labor and costs, supporting back-of-house coordination, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who fosters a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with Ojo Spa Resorts' mission and values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversees the daily restaurant floor operations, ensuring seamless and gracious guest service at all times.

2. Manages, schedules, trains, and leads front-of-house (FOH) staff including servers, bussers, hosts, and bartenders.

3. Onboards, schedules, oversees training, and provides ongoing coaching of all Front of House staff. Regularly communicates with staff to offer feedback on performance and provide pathways for improvement and growth.

4. Conducts pre-shift meetings, communicates daily objectives, specials, and expectations to staff.

5. Responds to guest feedback, concerns, or complaints professionally and promptly.

6. Ensures consistent and high-quality service standards through observation, training, and active floor presence.

7. Inspects the entire restaurant at opening and closing. Any repairs and safety issues will be submitted through our workorder system. 

8. Monitors dining room cleanliness, table settings, and overall appearance to ensure alignment with brand standards.

9. Maintains labor controls and assists in managing costs while ensuring proper staffing for service periods.

10. Partners with the kitchen team to ensure food quality, timing, and coordination between front and back-of-house.

11. Participates in inventory control, ordering of restaurant supplies, and vendor relationships as needed.

12. Collaborates with the Food & Beverage Manager and HR on recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.

13. Leads by example in professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols. Model the behavior, techniques, and methods to achieve a great guest experience alongside all staff.

14. Ensures compliance with all food safety, alcohol service, and health department regulations.

15. Actively utilizes POS computer systems and trains staff in usage and responding to technology problems.

16. Participate in resort meetings, i.e. service improvement processes, emergency planning monthly financial performance, daily standup, action item meetings, etc.

17. Communicates with the F&B Manager and the Assistant F&B Manager regarding any guest requests or problems. Determines, recommends, and implements the appropriate guest recovery response.

18. Supports a positive workplace culture that fosters employee engagement, accountability, and excellence.

19. Is CPR/AED/First Aid certified. Understands first aid/emergency procedures and can direct guests accordingly.

20. Make immediate decisions and communicate with guest services staff in emergencies; be knowledgeable of and able to implement all fire-life-safety procedures. Supports F&B Manager in conducting drills regularly.

Requirements


1. Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a resort, hotel, or upscale dining environment.

2. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a successful FOH team.

3. Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards, guest relations, and team supervision.

4. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

5. Proficient in restaurant POS systems, scheduling platforms, and basic financial reporting.

6. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable.

8. Must possess a valid New Mexico Food Handler's Permit and Alcohol Server's License prior to hire and maintain both in active status throughout employment.

9. High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Hospitality or Business is a plus.

10. Comfortable working outdoors and navigating various terrain in all weather conditions.

11. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

12. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. 

13. This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.
