Position Description:

The Dining Room Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Artesian restaurant, ensuring a high standard of guest service, seamless coordination between the Front and Back of House, and adherence to operational procedures. This role requires a strong focus on guest satisfaction and employee management.


The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Ojo Caliente Holdings, Inc. (OCHI) Core Values: Accountability, Authenticity, Diversity, Excellence, Gratitude, Happiness, Integrity, Mindfulness, Respect and Teamwork


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Guest Service Excellence: Ensure all guests receive prompt, friendly, and attentive service that aligns with Ojo's standards and core values. Handle guest concerns and special requests in a professional and courteous manner. 
  2. Team Leadership: Supervise, train and motivate Dining Room staff, ensure high performance and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
  3. Operational Efficiency: Manage Dining Room shifts, seating arrangements, and table assignments, optimizing guest flow and Kitchen ticket times.
  4. Quality Control: Ensure that food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, and overall dining room and staff appearance meet Ojo's standards.
  5. Training and Development: Lead ongoing onboarding and training programs to improve staff performance and ensure the team is well-versed in service techniques, menu and wine list knowledge, and safety standards.
  6. Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor dining room supplies and coordinate with management to maintain stock levels. Report any shortages or equipment issues promptly.
  7. Collaboration with Culinary Team: Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely service, accuracy of orders, and smooth communication between Front and Back of the House. Advises team on customer food preferences and requests.
  8. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all food safety and cleanliness protocols are followed, including sanitation standards and proper handling of food, beverages and tabletop service ware.
  9. Reservation Coordination: Assist with executing special dining requests or large party accommodations.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or lead server position within a fine dining or resort environment. Previous experience in a spa or luxury resort setting is a plus.


Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certificate in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional atmosphere
  • Knowledge of food, beverages and service standards
  • Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, and move gracefully throughout the dining room. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds or more.


Licenses and/or Certifications: Must have a valid New Mexico Food Handler's Permit and an Alcohol Server's License BEFORE starting work.


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.


Due to the natural environment at Ojo Spa Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
