Document Control Specialist

Location - Houston, TX (Hybird)

Pay: $19- $21 per hour

Job Summary:

The Document Control Specialist will provide Technical Drawing Management tracking, coordination, storage, archiving for UST Assets for all Project types, O&M, Capital, MOCs in an Electronic Document Management System (Meridian).

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate, receive, issue, track, distribute and archive all technical drawing requests, files and issue packages utilizing the Electronic Document Management (EDM) System for all UST O&M, Capital, and Core project work.
  • Responsible for identifying and investigating specific issues that may occur - in terms of data quality, process management, or other gaps that may occur.
  • Uses professional communication when working with internal stakeholders to communicate various reports and associated summaries - able to collect, interpret and present data accordingly.
  • Assist external consultants and internal groups with information, standards and procedures required to complete their projects and contractual agreements as they relate to drawing control.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of drawing and drawing control standards and procedures for UST.
  • Ensure the integrity of defined technical drawing and metadata quality within the EDM System
  • Other duties as needed that include but are not limited to special project assignments, and preparation of technical drawings for internal and external requestors and field sites.
  • Provide Construction and As-building drawing coordination and services utilizing Meridian Document control software for Projects that are assigned to EPCs.
  • Work with all the Drawing Control Analysts and Drafters (UST, Offshore, & Vector) to ensure the integrity of defined technical drawing and metadata quality within the Meridian system
  • Requires a significant amount of collaborative communication, both written and verbal, to achieve desired outcomes with Drawing Control Analysts and Drafting, utilizing the established procedures as guidance
  • While most decision-making is guided by past practice, incumbents may be expected to modify standard practice and adapt approaches to new tasks.
  • Incumbents are expected to manage their time and priorities

Required:

  • Related Technology Diploma or a combination of related certification and minimum 0-3 years of related experience
  • Basic system knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
  • Meridian or compatible drawing management systems and oil & gas experience is a PLUS
  • Ability to manage time, tasks and resources effectively in a deadline-oriented, customer service environment and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to resolve technical and analytical problems with minimal supervision.
