Job description


Safety-Kleen in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Warehouse Worker (known internally as a Material Handler) to join their safety conscious team! You will be responsible for completing all assigned warehouse duties in a safe and responsible manner.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and acting in a safe manner always.
  • Unload and reload route truck;
  • Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day's runs
  • Ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycle or distribution centers
  • Conduct inventory count and reconciliation
  • Verify, receive, stock, and organize product
  • Pick, package, and ship outbound orders
  • Operate heavy material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jack
  • Load and unload trucks with various equipment and by hand
  • Coordinate transportation for outbound shipments
  • Local deliveries when needed
  • Move trailers or trucks within the yard
  • Housekeeping in the branch (painting, picking up trash, sweeping, cleaning, straightening)
  • Assist other business units
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules

Qualifications
What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen?
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity;
  • Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements;
  • Reliable transportation required for local travel between facilities.
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Intermediate computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Office - Excel and Outlook experience required
  • Ability to work with waste labels, manifests, and load sheets;
  • Forklift experience required
  • Experience in a warehouse environment preferred
