Job description

(Birmingham, AL): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to repair, maintain and service commercial laundry equipment throughout the San Antonio and Austin market. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to travel to customer sites to perform installations, troubleshooting, and repairs in production environments.


Essential Duties:

• Offload, rig, haul, and install industrial laundry equipment in production environments

• Perform startup and commissioning of commercial laundry systems

• Troubleshoot commercial laundry equipment using schematics and technical knowledge

• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components

• Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics and drawings

• Provide support in fabrication, assembly, cutting, pipe fitting, and machining

• Work from oral and written instructions efficiently and safely

• Utilize manuals and catalogs when ordering parts or installing equipment

• Maintain inventory of parts and tools on assigned service vehicle

• Operate forklifts, flatbed trailers, and other equipment as needed

• Travel to customer sites throughout the South Texas region

• Follow all company safety standards, policies, and housekeeping practices

• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor


Requirements/Skills:

• Experience installing industrial equipment required

• Knowledge of plumbing, air, steam, and machine interconnections

• Experience with offloading, rigging, and hauling industrial equipment

• Some experience with industrial laundry equipment preferred

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and drawings

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and pneumatic machinery preferred

• Must own appropriate hand tools for the trade

• Experience using a flatbed trailer required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Additional training in mechanical or electrical technology required

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required

• Experience installing industrial washers and dryers preferred but not required


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts

• Ability to safely handle industrial machinery and tools

• Ability to perform extended periods of walking, bending, lifting, and moving equipment

• Ability to work in industrial and production environments safely and efficiently
