The Role

Intelligent Wellhead Systems (IWS) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Field Technician to join our team. IWS designs, tests, manufactures, and deploys proprietary and unique digital safety and efficiency workflow technologies for oil and gas well completion operations. The company’s inVision™ Technology Platform helps oil and gas and oilfield service companies reduce operating risk, lower the total cost of operations, and improve uptime. IWS, a privately owned technology and services company, is backed by Pason Systems Inc. (“Pason”) (TSX: PSI).

IWS is seeking a highly motivated Field Technician, holding a critical role for IWS’ success, providing onsite equipment installation, training, and troubleshooting IWS control and data systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Interact with customers daily through in-person, verbal and written interactions, written reports, and basic field interaction
  • Installation and setup of electrical hardware, mechanical hardware, and software at customer sites
  • Configure network devices related to the inVision™ systems and components with training
  • Train customers and/or third-party service companies’ personnel to use IWS equipment properly
  • Generate field reports, gather data, and perform light data analysis
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all electronic, electrical, and computer-based equipment with training
  • Rig-up/rig-out equipment, inspection, maintenance, and organization of differing type of equipment
  • Hands on and remote field support of customers and third-party services on customer sites
  • Work independently to self-dispatch to remote locations

Experience and Academic Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an oil and gas well completion related service line
  • Experience in field-based operations, general maintenance tasks, wellsite knowledge and awareness
  • Ability to work away from home
  • Ability to adapt to everchanging work environment and/or priorities of work assignments
  • Strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft based products (IWS will train the successful candidate to interface and network corresponding proprietary hardware and software systems)
  • The ability to provide detailed and complete reports in an efficient manner
  • Effective oral, written, and social communication skills
  • An interest in current/emerging technologies helping to achieve organizational goals and targets
