Job description

Established practice * Immediate patient backlog * Flexible schedule

An established oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Rhinelander, Wisconsin is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to step into an existing, in-demand regional surgical role.

This is not a practice to build from zero. For more than 40 years, this center has served as a cornerstone of specialty surgical care and is one of the northernmost OMS practices in Wisconsin. The practice serves patients across a large multicounty region in northern Wisconsin and the adjacent Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where demand consistently exceeds current provider availability - a gap deepened by three regional oral surgeons retiring in recent years without replacement.

The incoming surgeon inherits real momentum from day one:

-An established 40+ year GP referral network spanning the region, delivering consistent case inflow without the friction of building relationships from scratch.

-A standing patient backlog - roughly three months of scheduled demand waiting for a surgeon.

-Three fully equipped operatories with largely modernized infrastructure - CBCT Cone Beam Computed Tomography), newer chairs and handpieces, integrated nitrous and oxygen delivery, and EHR - run by an experienced, dedicated surgical team.

-A meaningful production opportunity in an underserved market with limited competition.

Build around your preferred schedule.

We are open to multiple practice models, structured around the right surgeon's schedule and availability:

-Fly-In / Locums - a fly-in surgical block model, minimum commitment generally 4-5 days per month. The regional airport is approximately five minutes from the clinic, with daily commercial service to Minneapolis and Chicago - making visiting coverage genuinely practical without relocation.

-Part-Time - a recurring monthly schedule, minimum commitment generally 8-12 days per month, structured around surgeon availability.

-Full-Time - approximately 10-16 clinical days per month, with a schedule tailored around mutual goals and practice needs.

Compensation built on real production.

- $4,500 daily guaranteed minimum, regardless of model.

- 45% to 50% of collections, depending on experience and production.

- $10,500 to $16,000 per clinical day in historical production averages.

For surgeons seeking a deeper long-term role, there is opportunity to expand clinical responsibilities over time based on mutual fit, performance, and shared goals.

Beyond the practice, Rhinelander sits in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods - a four-season lake region offering an exceptional quality of life, from world-class fishing and water sports to quiet, uncrowded surroundings rarely paired with surgical opportunity of this scale.

If you are an accomplished oral surgeon or just starting out and seeking established demand in an underserved region - on a schedule that fits your life - we invite you to begin the conversation.
