Job description
Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:
- Perform engineering review of Applications for Permit to Drill (APD's)
- Review and approve Well Completion Reports, Workover Tax Credits, plugging and abandonment procedures
- Review and approve UIC Permits (Class II) and Carbon Sequestration Permits (Class VI)
- Determine program goals and objectives and/or chair committees established to support the program.
- Provide consultations, make recommendations, give appropriate advice, and/or facilitate decisions to the Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining, oil and gas operators in Utah, other stakeholders, other Division employees and the public.
- Act as an expert witness. Give testimony and/or recommendations in court cases and/or hearings.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding our rules, regulations and policies.
- Work Closely with Division field personnel concerning well operations and problems.
- Investigate complaints and follow up with written findings and appropriate recommendations.
