INDUSTRY: Rental Equipment, Oil & Gas
LOCATION: Abilene, TX
CONTEXT: Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Class A Driver to join their team in the rental equipment industry, primarily serving the oil and gas sector. As a CDL Class A Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting a variety of rental equipment, both heavy and light, to and from job sites. Your ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, along with your experience in hauling and transporting equipment, will be crucial to the success of operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely haul heavy and light rental equipment to and from designated locations, including job sites within the oil and gas industry.
  • Operate CDL Class A trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions for the transport of equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is securely loaded and properly balanced for safe transport, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance.
  • Follow trucking transport routes and schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all state and federal transportation regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth delivery and pick-up operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring equipment is delivered in pristine condition and on time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in equipment hauling within the rental equipment industry, especially in oil and gas operations.
  • Familiarity with hauling both heavy-duty and light equipment.
  • Experience operating trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Strong knowledge of trucking transport safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility and reliability in meeting delivery deadlines and handling unexpected job site challenges.
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry or similar heavy industry sectors.
