Schedule: Hybrid โ€“ Work from home Wednesday & Friday

Duration: 2-Year Contract with potential extension or permanent opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement activities for multiple active Oil & Gas projects. This position will manage material and equipment purchases from initial requisition through sourcing, commercial evaluation, purchase order issuance, and delivery.

The ideal candidate has Oil & Gas experience, preferably within Midstream, and is comfortable working directly with Project Managers, Engineers, Expeditors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

SAP Materials Management (MM) experience is required. Candidates must be able to create and manage purchase orders in SAP with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for materials and engineered equipment across multiple projects
  • Develop, issue, and manage RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate with qualified suppliers
  • Perform bid analyses and commercial evaluations for project stakeholders
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support supplier selection
  • Create, issue, and administer purchase orders in SAP
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and purchase order records
  • Track purchase order status and provide updates to project teams
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Expeditors, and other internal stakeholders
  • Support supplier qualification and onboarding activities
  • Manage and resolve invoice exceptions
  • Ensure purchasing activities follow established processes, authorization requirements, and PO terms and conditions
  • Manage priorities across multiple active projects and purchases

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience
  • Oil & Gas industry experience required; Midstream strongly preferred
  • SAP Materials Management (MM) experience required
  • Hands-on experience creating and managing purchase orders in SAP
  • Experience issuing and managing RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
  • Experience performing commercial bid evaluations and presenting results to stakeholders
  • Ability to read and work with Power BI
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and Incoterms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience purchasing engineered equipment/materials such as turbine skids, electrical equipment, and related project materials is a plus
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred but not required

This position is best suited for candidates with project-based Oil & Gas procurement experience rather than warehouse or manufacturing purchasing backgrounds.
