Job description

Laborers with Cando are responsible for performing the safe and efficient loading, unloading and securement of product to railcars. If you enjoy working outdoors, physical activity, problem solving, and a company that promotes a strong safety culture, this opportunity is for you!

Laborers with Cando are responsible for performing the safe and efficient loading, unloading and securement of product to railcars. Working in a customer-oriented environment, the Laborer must work well in teams to maximize efficiency while demonstrating a strong initiative and safety focus.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate or move equipment around the yard and shop.
  • Help maintain inventory of supplies and/or shop equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to work on various shop, maintenance, and yard tasks.
  • Attend communication meetings and safety training as scheduled. 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Safety consciousness and understanding of safe work practices for operating in different environments.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Climb into and out of the cab multiple times per shift.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds while connecting hoses to trailers.
  • Mechanically inclined, working with liquids and air pressures.
  • Must be open to working 40 to 60 hours per week.

Education & Experience

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must bring and have a good attitude!
  • Ability and eager to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Transferable skills is a must!
