Job description


The Testing Technician supports NOV's testing and inspection activities by ensuring equipment is tested, inspected, documented, and approved accurately, safely, and on schedule. This role performs hydrostatic, functional, and performance testing; final assembly and shipment inspections; supports customer acceptance testing; maintains testing documentation; and verifies equipment meets company and customer quality standards. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Testing Technician works closely with Testing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and inspection of coiled tubing, nitrogen, snubbing, mobile rig, fluid pumping, and other related oilfield equipment.
  • Participate in contract review meetings to ensure testing and inspection requirements are clearly understood.
  • Review and verify test procedures for accuracy and compliance with customer and company requirements.
  • Perform hydrostatic pressure testing in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
  • Conduct final assembly inspections to verify equipment is complete and conforms to engineering and quality requirements.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of manufactured equipment.
  • Support and conduct Customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and document test results.
  • Perform final shipping inspections to ensure equipment is ready for shipment.
  • Complete and maintain accurate job folders, test reports, inspection records, and quality documentation.
  • Verify all manufactured equipment meets applicable specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements prior to shipment.
  • Work safely and comply with all NOV Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures, quality processes, and support processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Testing Applications required
  • Experience with Oil & Gas field equipment preferred
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, stoop, or sit for 8 hours
