What We're Looking For
Pohanka Chevrolet is looking for reliable, motivated Automotive General Maintenance Technicians to join our growing team. In this fast-paced role, you'll perform quick-turnaround repairs and services to keep vehicles safe, reliable, and on the road. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will ensure every customer leaves satisfied with their experience. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your automotive diagnostics and repair skills in a supportive environment that values your contributions.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs with precision and efficiency
  • Perform basic repairs including brake inspections, alignments, tire service, and mechanical adjustments using hand tools and power tools
  • Diagnose common automotive issues utilizing automotive diagnostics equipment to identify necessary repairs quickly
  • Assist with vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and recommend additional services when appropriate
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols
  • Communicate clearly with customers about their vehicle's condition, repair needs, and service recommendations
  • Support the team with heavy lifting and physical tasks required for vehicle servicing and maintenance

Experience
  • Previous dealership or automotive service experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repairs
  • Proven mechanic experience with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and vehicle maintenance procedures
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of automotive service standards including oil changes, alignments, tire service, and general maintenance tasks
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment
